The band kicked off its rehearsals in Dublin in electrifying form to a packed, spirited sellout crowd tonight at the Olympia Theatre. The set tipped heavily in the direction of brand new songs, ten in all, but also featured a selection of classics including "Second Guessing," "Letter Never Sent," "Maps and Legends," "1,000,000," and "Little America."
R.E.M. will play night two of their five-night stand in Dublin tomorrow with support from Simple Kid.

This makes us very curious to the new songs and I hope they play New Test Leper on the 4th or 5th too!

got up at 4am to get over to Dublin to see the best band in the world , flew over with Ryan air from Manchester , booked into the Temple bar hotel and enjoyed a few pints of the black stuff in Temple bar , sat watching all the girls on the many hen party weekends , wife not impressed !!!! what a great day (and the rain stayed off !!) , then a five min walk to the theatre , great to see such a diverse group of fans (young , old and various nationalities ) what an atmosphere !!
Then realised you could take your camera in ( did not bring it to the show after reading somewhere that cameras were a strict no-no ) gutted !!
Then REM....what a fantastic set , great to be so up close and
personal with the band....awesome.
