As I've understood from several posts, the guys do still some finetuning on the new material, so I'd avoid to criticize them in any way. Personally, I would say, all the new songs I've heard and seen so far sound as if R.E.M. has achieved it once again to create something new - one of the things that still make them absolutely unique to me and invaluable compared to any other band.

I'm extremely happy that these new songs possess a lot of the energy and power especially the early albums had. But in my eyes they're really different, a further development. Of course we got to wait and see how the studio versions will be. Who can tell..

But as far as I've experienced, we can trust the guys, they've always mastered their job ;-)

Thanks very much for these. Looking forward to seeing more from the nights I didn't go - ie: all the rest. Isn't modern tech a wonderful thing?
